“Eingang” — Elaborately carved church door, Munich.

The small “EINGANG” or “entrance” sign directs visitors toward the main entrance of the Frauenkirche in Munich. As I was looking for more information on the church I searched on photos and found only one that might have included a detail from this entryway — all of the others are of the main entrance. #Munich Hbf in August 2001: this train is a #EuroCity which has just arrived from #Zurich , hauled by a pair of #DB Class 218 diesels, from Lindau onwards. The third car behind the locos, with the kitchen windows open, is the #SBB @diningcar, where I had just enjoyed a freshly made (!) “Wiener Schnitzel” (on a Swiss train, in Germany, mind you).

MAN Truck & Bus has launched large-scale battery production at its #Nuremberg site in #Germany, investing nearly €500 million in total, with €250 million directed towards battery production for eTrucks and eBuses. This expansion, alongside €250 million for diesel engine production, will secure 400 sustainable jobs, many filled by retrained staff. The new batteries, using NMC cell chemistry, feature advanced safety systems and are produced using a modular, fully automated, and scalable process. Production is designed to reach 100,000 units per year, with an emphasis on flexibility and efficiency. MAN aims for half of its trucks in Europe and 90% of city #buses to be zero-emission by 2030, with series production of MAN eTrucks set to begin in #Munich in June 2025.
