On March 31, I ran the Grand Canyon R2R2R with a coworker.

We started at the South Kaibab trailhead at ~6:30 AM, made our way north to the Colorado River, crossed the bridge to Phantom Ranch, headed north through Cottonwood towards Manzanita, then made the eastward turn towards North Kaibab. Once we reached the north rim, we retraced our route back to the south rim, finishing ~9:00 PM.

44 miles, 12,000 feet elevation gain, 14.5 hours.

I RAN IN SHORTS TODAY

Which is especially surreal considering we had a snow storm about 24h ago

It’s also VERY windy, so I felt especially tired, sometimes like the wind was carrying me away. Gusts up to 64km/h here.

I survived but it wasn’t my best run. Just glad I could wear shorts!

On my run this morning a dog bit me and I'm disappointed and annoyed. I come across a lot of dogs while running, some off leash and some aggressive, but this is the first time one actually went for me. Nothing serious but it does hurt.

So annoyed I'm posting a beautiful pear blossom.

Hello, hello, Fediverse. Day 40 of #The100DayProject is upon us, and my 21k training saga continues. Today was a bit more demanding, 45 minute tempo run. 10 minutes easy pace warmup, 20 minutes at a hard but sustainable pace, and 15 minutes gradual deceleration cooldown. Slowly starting to feel stronger while keeping a more demanding pace, which is a good sign my body is adapting well to the gradual load increase 🤘🏻😉👍🏻

And now, breakfast 😋

Thursday #Workout:
200 seconds of plank.
11 minutes of yoga for runners.
10 minutes of strength training.
10 minutes of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training).
12.5 KM of #Running (Light rain, 4°C, 100% humidity, and 14 km/hr wind)

Everything feels like it's working properly.

Today's run in the rain through slush and ice was pretty good, even if it was *very* splashy, resulting in some very soaked shoes, socks, and cold toes. Rinsed the shoes out in the shower to help get the salt out. 🧡
