Before moving to Hawai'i, my only experience with sensitive plant (mimosa pudica) was at a display at the Chicago botanical gardens where you could touch it. As you can imagine, it made a big impression on me as a kid
Here in the tropical wet climate of East Hawai'i Island, it grows in many disturbed areas, like my driveway! It's fun until you experience the sharp thorniness
But here's a pro-tip: goats love it!

The little pink puffballs are its flowers. If you notice a similarity to other fabaceae, that's because it too is in fabaceae. I'd love it, if only it wasn't so sharp!
