I feel like alot of the despair I feel as an aspiring artist is from the disharmony between the statement of intent, "I want to make art", when really the true feeling is "I want to have had made art".

It's not that I might "trust the process", it's "the art is the process". Or "the map is not the territory" vis à vis "the artifact is not the art".

The audio wizards at Audio Damage have released a new looping software, a six track multi-layer looping environment. This thing is fantastic. Lately I’ve been exploring improvisational ambient guitar and this thing completely explodes the possibilities. Hours of fun.

I'm trying to find the right ambient texture for a new song. I started with some soft synth pads, now exploring a pulsating guitar sound ala How Soon Is Now. My approach so far is sucking all the dynamics out of the different pulses which makes it monotonous and eventually grating, so the experiments continue!
