People, even #MAGA people, have to ask why #Trump wants to dismiss charges without prejudice* in this high profile #corruption case against a #Democrat running a #sanctuarycity & why a #prosecutor who was awarded two bronze stars for #MilitaryService & served as a #lawclerk for #Republican #ChiefJusticeJohnRoberts is willing to loose their job trying to continue the #prosecution.

*a dismissal without prejudice means the charges can be filed without invoking #doublejeopardy.

"Last week, Councilor Colorio pushed our petition to vote on declaring Worcester a sanctuary city for trans and gender diverse people out a week, and the Mayor has not responded to our requests for the public apology to Councilor Nguyen for their transphobic experiences, which Council voted to make over two weeks ago, or to an investigation (which should be on the agenda this week!). SO, WE ARE HEADING BACK TO TALK ABOUT IT! This Tuesday, 2/11, before the Worcester City Council meeting, we're showing up serving Diva Decorum as we Queer Ball at City Hall before the City Council meeting at 6:30.

Queer and trans folks have always found joy during the fight for our rights, so bring that energy with you on Tuesday.

We want this to be our biggest turn out yet. So DRAG your friends out for an evening of action. We're really looking forward to holding space with all of you (we're in queer media now). Never been to City Hall or to a Council meeting before? This is literally the best reason to start because it's all about joy and community. There will be no pressure to speak, we'll have info to update you on what's going on, and folks to talk to about the work ahead.

Hmm von #SanctuaryCities hab ich schon lang nicht mehr gehört aber war eigentlich immer ein aktuelles Thema. In den USA jetzt aber besonders. Chicago versteht sich schon lange ausdrücklich als #SanctuaryCity.

Chicagos Stadtverwaltung hat noch einmal klar gemacht, dass ihre Polizeibehörde sich nicht an den von Trumps angekündigten Massenabschiebungen beteiligen wird.

In Deutschland auch #SolidarischeStaedte genannt. Das ist wohl auch ein Konzept das bei der Einführung der #Bezahlkarte relevant sein könnte...

With two bills that passed through our city council unanimously, #Pittsburgh, PA has positioned itself as a #SanctuaryCity for #TransPeople. One bill prevents any city resources for being used to provide information or evidence to prosecute a trans person for seeking #GenderAffirmingCare here in the city. The second, largely symbolic but important, declares that gender affirming care will always be protected here, regardless of state or federal law.
