The EU, China, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Vietnam and others, all hit back or at least done something. I defy you to find any semblance of meaning in this from Starmer. Any iota of an inkling of a plan. One sentence or even two words strung together that aren’t complete and utter political speak bullshit. The man utters a thousands words and never do they mean anything. Absolutely full of shit and I voted for him for context

Has anyone ever thought of an idea, where a number countries - prob ones that neighbour each other, all band together and use that, err what name would it be? - for now let’s call it a union. Use that union to create a strong trading bloc that could get better desks from the US and China. While at the same time trading with each other easily and without boarders and yet each country keeping its individual identity!!!!

Why seek to nix the financial regulations inspired by the 2008 crash, when the likely result is a repeat performance? Why reject a wealth tax, when a 2% levy on assets of over £10m could raise £24bn a year? Why not adopt the measures proposed by Patriotic Millionaires, generating £60bn a year? Or those suggested by political economist Richard Murphy, worth £90bn in tax revenue? Why abandon plans to tax non-doms properly? Why not demand an end to the Bank of England’s destructive quantitative tightening?
