Update on the #Sempervivum berry I grabbed from the cemetery trash.

* If you like succulents, there are almost always freebies in the cemetery trash here from people cleaning/updating graves. From trash, not graves. I have SOME couth...

Anyway...

It's made roots, and is adjusting well to windowsill life.

It's in a pot with one of my rescue aloes.

As you can see, I toss my weed stems in there to compost, as well as bong ash if it doesn't suck into the water.

Watering is sparse, 1x month.

Repurposed some things I found around the apartment: a pot (once containing papyrus that outgrew it), some rocks and cactus soil, moss (thriving in a north-facing, left-alone pot), two different unspecified sempervivum species (that suffered from overgrowth of neighbouring plants).

I left the pot on an east-facing windowsill and hope the moss keeps up. I’ll mist regularly and hope some digging insects make their homes in the sandy soil.

#HappySolstice ! to those in the North, may you enjoy your #midsummer and may it be full of growth and life! For those in the South, may your #midwinter be a time of reflection and inner growth.
I have a poem/more photos, but trying to head out to get some stuff done while the sun is out (more #rain today- funny, usually a 30% chance does not get us any, but after nearly a week of rain, it does..lol-still welcome!)

Started the garden post-winter tidy up this weekend. A couple of gentle hours each day just clearing some of the old and dead stems and leaves from things, seeing what survived the winter (not my black aquilegia or several lewisia - all turned to mush) and pulling the massive dandelions before they seed everywhere. Did sort the sempervivums and planted up some of the babies. #garden #gardening #plant #sempervivum #leeds
